These are photos of shrine. This shrine's name is "Hirokuni shrine", and this is near to my house. I visit to this shrine on New Year's Day every year. This act is called "Hatsumoude". In "Hatsumoude", Japanese people visit to the shrine and pray that this year will be good. We throw some coins to the offering box before we pray. Every year, I draw a fortune slip called "Omikuji"and know my fortune of the year.

Does your local shrine have an autumn festival? It might make sense to talk about autumn festivals at this time of year rather than New Years stuff...
